TikTokThis Friday, BBC Children in Need will be hosting their first ever Pudsey Games - a brand new TikTok LIVE event that will see some of our biggest creators and artists take part in hilarious challenges. All of these games and challenges are designed to give audiences a laugh while raising money for a fantastic cause.
Using their talents to support Children in Need this year are the amazing pop duo @iamcharlietyler.
TikTok LIVE is basically a second home to the artists, who have built a 196k strong community through daily LIVEs over the past year. In case you miss one, Charlie also shares snippets of performances and guest appearances on other creators' LIVE channels.
While they often perform covers of songs, Charlie Tyler have premiered original songs too in a series entitled 'The Vinyl Room'.
Earlier this week, we caught up with Charlie Tyler to discuss all things TikTok LIVE, her best advice, and content that she can't get enough of.
What is your favourite thing about LIVE content on TikTok?
LIVE allows our fanbase to not only enjoy watching our performances but also participate in multiple, exciting ways. From setting off confetti cannons to triggering prop reactions, our shows are fully interactive with our audience. Not only do we receive their appreciation and support through gifting, but they also get something back from doing so.
Why did you decide to start creating content on TikTok?
We came onto the platform by accident, looking for an outlet to simply practice our show before taking it into the real world. We created short form as a way to promote the album we had made together during the pandemic years. However, fast forward 9 months and TikTok LIVE has become our new home!
What other LIVE creators on TikTok do you follow?
We follow a lot of other music creators on the app, such as Your Open Circle alongside other fantastic performers. We are also into high quality battle content such as creators like Sean Collins, who we have a friendly but ultra competitive relationship with!
What is your goal on TikTok?
To grow our community as big as possible in order to provide better and better shows for the public to get involved with. We are a completely crowd funded show on TikTok and since arriving on the platform we have never stopped growing due to everyone's incredible generosity. We want to continue to innovate on the platform and change how people are entertained online. We feel that we've only just scratched the surface of this incredible technology!
What is your favourite TikTok video you have made to date and why?
Our favourite videos honestly are the two trailers we have made for our shows recently. It's incredible to see all the support that we've received since joining TikTok LIVE and still cannot get over what we have created with our fanbase!
What piece of advice would you give to someone interested in TikTok or TikTok LIVE?
TikTok LIVE is no different to running a successful social media page on any other platform. The only difference is that it is LIVE. The amount of preparation we put into what we do takes up 75% of our work everyday. For us, the work load is non stop but so is the response we get from the public. This is our full time job and we treat it as such. We are forever grateful to every single person that supports what we do and we try and give back more and more!
