We love your DIY content! Do you really think anyone can give it a try?

Absolutely! I encourage people to start on a task they feel comfortable with and build from there. It's an incredible feeling when you achieve something and that feeling of accomplishment spurs you on to try something a little trickier. Confidence comes not from proving to others what you can do but by proving it to yourself. Try it!

What first inspired you to create on TikTok?

In March 2020 we started lockdown and online searches for ''DIY'' skyrocketed. I wanted to see if I could help people who were struggling to find ways to solve their house problems by themselves. I just started posting every day, answering questions and making short how-to's and DIY hacks. I saw a need and I wanted to fill a gap.

Have you been surprised by the response to your content?

Yes! It's such a joy for me when people try out ideas I've shared or use the sound I've created. There's something really magical about being such an integral part in someone's creative process and watching them build upon your idea. Individuals make great content on TikTok but the content that's community crafted is phenomenal. People's capacity for creativity always surprises me.

What is your goal on TikTok?

My mission is to make DIY education accessible and affordable to everyone. Everytime I post a video, I ask myself who would pause on this video? What's in it for them?

What other creators are on your For You feed?

Oh my goodness: @talkingtothewild fantastic poet, @cleanwithjen super satisfying #cleantok, @taylortomlinsoncomedy I'm in stitches, @_ohabode for DIY tutorials.

What do you love most about the TikTok community?

I love that the community tells you exactly what it needs. I once had a comment that asked me why I didn't finish any projects, so I started finishing my projects and my Follow-Along series are now amongst my most viewed content. You want a tutorial? Sure! A tool recommendation? I got you.

What is your favourite TikTok you have made to date and why?

It has to be my page intro video, over 100k people joined me in one day from this video and I really felt that I had found my community in that moment. That my content was needed and that what I do has a purpose that makes a difference in people's lives. Aside from that, just about any video that I get to dress up as a superhero because they always make people smile!
