Tomorrowland 2025 Breaks Records for the Biggest Ever LIVE event on TikTok

Friday 1st August: As TikTok bids farewell to the extraordinary, dramatic and groundbreaking electronic music festival Tomorrowland, we can reveal that LIVE streams of the festival broke all previous records for an audience watching a live event on TikTok. More than 74 million unique viewers watched TikTok LIVE streams from Tomorrowland across both weekends, smashing the previous record of 16 million viewers watching Tomorrowland on TikTok in 2023.
As Tomorrowland's year-long Official Content Partner, TikTok had access to the very best music and artists at the festival, broadcasting a 24/7 LIVE stream from the MainStage, Freedom Stage and OneWorldRadio, hosting the world's leading DJs and producers at our Content Studio, and sharing it all in the #Tomorrowland in-app content hub on TikTok.
The TikTok community turned up in droves, enjoying more than 2.4 billion views of #Tomorrowland content during the two weeks, making Tomorrowland the biggest festival account on TikTok with over 9.2m followers, an increase of over 1.9m new followers over the two weeks.
In total, artists that partnered with TikTok at Tomorrowland either via the MainStage LIVE stream or content studio, gained an additional 3 million followers and received over 580 million video views across their festival content.
The most-watched artists on TikTok LIVE over the two weekends were:
- Charlotte de Witte: Charlotte de Witte opened the MainStage on the first Saturday, and then played the closing set that same night, making her the first artist to play twice on the MainStage on the same day.
- Martin Garrix: Martin Garrix played the closing sets on the MainStage each weekend, headlining the MainStage on both Sundays.
- Alan Walker: Alan Walker performed his new new track 'Heartbreak Melody' (with FAANGS) which was released via SoundOn and Tomorrowland Music following the Songwriter Camp ahead of the festival.
Commenting on the record-breaking results, Michael Kümmerle, Global Head of Music Partnership Development at TikTok, said: "Electronic music is one of the biggest genres on TikTok, and Tomorrowland is a truly unique experience that showcases electronic music in all its glory. Thanks to the resilience and hard work of the entire Tomorrowland team, this year's festival rose from the ashes to create unforgettable moments that will be remembered forever.
This holistic global partnership has taken Tomorrowland on TikTok to a new level, making it one of the strongest music accounts on the platform, and creating incredible impact, engagement and value - both on- and off-platform - for the artists participating in and supporting this amazing campaign. We look forward to creating many more incredible experiences with Tomorrowland as their official content partner."
SoundOn x Tomorrowland Music
SoundOn - TikTok's distribution and promotion service - and Tomorrowland Music entered into a first-of-its-kind partnership to host a Songwriter camp in July in Brussels, pairing some of the world's best artists and DJs with incredible producers to create a series of brand new, original tracks specifically written for the festival.
Each of the new tracks created at the songwriter camp were performed for the first time at Tomorrowland over the two festival weekends, and are released by Tomorrowland Music x SoundOn.
The first track to be released was Heartbreak Melody - an anthemic, festival-ready single with a nod to La Bouche's 'Be My Lover' - by superstar DJ Alan Walker with FAANGS, which saw 4m streams in 2 weeks, and which became the 'most saved' song using the Add to Music App feature from any artist performing at Tomorrowland.
Ely Oaks & LAVINIA created the second new track from the songwriter camp, 'Same Thing', an emotive, dance-floor-ready track blending Ely’s refined production, with LAVINIA’s heartfelt vocal delivery, which has seen 1m streams in its first week.
Further tracks from the songwriter camp will be unveiled in the weeks ahead, including one from Pegassi, released on 15th August.
Nichal Sethi, Head of SoundOn EMEA, commented: "At SoundOn we love to bring creative ideas to life in partnership with artists and the industry, which is why we were so excited to work with Tomorrowland Music to make the songwriter camp a reality. It was great to combine some of the very best SoundOn artists, DJs and producers with some amazing, fresh talent that we were working with for the first time. Hearing the tracks played from the MainStage for the first time was incredible and they are already breaking records both on and off the platform."
