Introducing our 2022 Creator Council

Creators are the heart of TikTok; from butterboards and Barbiecore to shining a light on Black British History, our creator community has been shaping trends and driving conversations, both on and off the platform.

Last year, as part of our commitment to supporting our amazing creative community, we launched TikTok's first ever Creator Council. Through regular conversation between Team TikTok and a cohort of ten UK Creators, we gained actionable, first-hand feedback surrounding issues that matter most to our community of Creators.

The Creator Council has provided an opportunity for TikTok to build on impactful feedback to improve our approach to our platform and our community.

The first Creator Council featured a range of familiar faces including campaigner and broadcaster @lucyedwardsblind and entertainer and comedian @chewkz. Through their participation in panels, community events, and early looks into product tools and updates, they provided us with invaluable feedback and helped us to shape a whole host of new updates and features to benefit our TikTok community and creators.

Now, we want to continue this conversation and build on the strong relationship that we've developed with the TikTok community.

Today we're pleased to reveal the TikTok creators that we will be working with in 2022/23. From parenting and comedy to climate activism and education, they reflect the diversity of the TikTok community, and through them, we hope that they will help us to truly understand what being a part of the TikTok community means, and how we can continue to improve the TikTok experience for all of our users.

So without further ado, let's meet this year's Creator Council...

A do-all content creator who has gained fame for her quirky outfits, humour, makeup looks and recreating viral trends for her audience. If that wasn't enough, she is going to be hitting our screens and appearing on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year - be sure to stay tuned!

Benjy uses his platform to connect communities, and educate his followers on a number of important issues. Whether it be showing us how to be part of the self love club, to how to fight microaggressions as an ally, explaining ways to fight everyday racism or how to challenge someone using insensitive language, his page is a safe and inclusive space for all.

A climate activist using TikTok to educate users about the risks facing our planet. His content focuses on sustainable living and good news, with highlights including how to be a better eco-activist and some of the ways that plastic pollution is being tackled.

Famed for their hilarious viral content, it's no wonder that this husband and wife duo have gone stratospheric on TikTok! Focusing on humour, recreating trends and challenges, they've also been giving our community an insight into their lives as a family.

Our resident positivity correspondent, Cheryl shares her experiences living with autism (and the sensory battles inbetween) and shares videos on the weird and wonderful world of slime. Her page is a place to constantly laugh and learn and our community loves her for it!

One of our most popular creators, posting updates and funny videos on her experiences as a deaf person. Highlights include the importance of hearing families continuing to sign for their deaf child, and how her deaf girlfriend understands her.

Our resident funny man on TikTok, who's keen on sharing the joy on and off the platform. From common trivia questions to test your knowledge to his hilarious impersonations, it's clear to see why Luke's content is loved in our community.

Kayne Kawasaki is an educator and communicator, who specialises in the teaching of Black British History. Ranging from pop culture to political events, Kayne touches on various areas of Black history and culture, in a digestible and informational format.

Eloise is all about finding the best spots in Manchester, and it would seem that her followers agree! From roller skating at Freight Island to roasts at Firehouse, her content showcases the best that Manchester has to offer.
