Whilst most of us are quite happy to spend these extra hours at home in lockdown scrolling through TikTok or catching up on the latest series, Team GB athletes are never ones to rest easy, and have partnered with TikTok to bring you the #IsolationGames - a new kind of home workout with that all important competitive twist!
This series will bring the sports action we’re all missing right to your living room and give you some inspiration to recreate the summer of sport in your back garden!
What are the TikTok #IsolationGames?
Team GB Olympic athletes Samuel Ward (@samuel_ward13), Max Whitlock (@maxwhitlock), Aimee Fuller (@aimee_fuller) and Leon Taylor have already started joyfully recreating everyone’s much-loved sporting moments for the public’s entertainment on their own TikTok profiles.
Sam Ward, Olympic Hockey star, initially came up with the idea for the TikTok #IsolationGames, showing that any sport can be adapted to the home with the help of some family and willing friends.
From a triathlon to boxing, shotput to rugby, he’s proved that with a bit of creativity, sporting icons can still keep the world entertained and inspired in lockdown. Go on...just check out his TikTok.
As well as entertaining us all during this trying time, the campaign will be supporting the British Red Cross, official partner of Team GB, in their response to COVID-19. The #IsolationGames in-app challenge page and accompanying videos will include a link for donations to help deliver food and medicine, and work with the NHS to support people home from hospital. Visit the #IsolationGames donation page here.
