We sat down with @SpicyMoustache to talk about what Earth Month means to him, tips on how to eat more sustainably, and what inspires him on TikTok.

In April we are celebrating Earth Month. What does Earth Month mean to you?

Earth Month is an event to celebrate the Earth and focus on environmental issues, but I think we should celebrate the Earth every day of the year and talk about the environment on a day-to-day basis! Educating people and raising awareness through daily actions should be a priority as there isn't a plan B. However, I am grateful to see a period of the year dedicated to Mother Earth, which is a chance to involve and inspire people in the preservation of the environment and discuss issues and solutions for our planet.

If you could share one tip for eating more sustainably, what would it be?

I think one of the best ways to eat more sustainably is to "eat the food you buy". Most people tend to overbuy products and end up chucking away a lot of food which they forget in the fridge or the cupboard. We should be more conscious about buying what we need. Also, eating seasonal and local food is not only healthy for your body, but a great way to support small businesses, so you don't buy food imported and transported from afar, reducing your impact on the environment.

What first inspired you to create content on TikTok?

The main reason I first started posting on TikTok is that the platform has a massive reach which means great potential to not only entertain but also educate and inspire people with simple and digestible content.

What is your goal on TikTok?

My goal is to reach as many people as possible and create a strong community. Thanks to TikTok, I had the chance to open doors which I had no idea I could open, so I am excited to see what the next year will bring!
