The BRITs 2023 with Mastercard is the biggest night in British music. One of the most iconic and highly anticipated events in the music calendar, the best UK musical talent congregated on Saturday night at The O2 Arena in London for an incredible night of performances and celebrations.

As so many of our community's favorite artists collected their awards, it was also a night where TikTok users had been given the chance to vote for their favourite artists in the four genre categories. First introduced last year, the genre awards were designed to spotlight the incredible British talent creating music within Pop/R&B, Alternative/Rock, Dance & Hip Hop/Grime/Rap.

Music lovers on TikTok have had the opportunity to interact with nominees ahead of the ceremony by following the official BRITs TikTok (@BRITS) and using the hashtag #Brits, which has 930.3M views.

Harry Styles

One of the night's biggest winners was undoubtedly TikTok fan favourite, Harry Styles, who brought the (Harry's) house down with a stunning live performance and picked up four awards (Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of Year and Pop/R&B). Fresh off a GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year with Harry's House, the album has produced multiple trending hits on TikTok including As it Was (2.6M+ creations) Music for a Sushi Restaurant (525k+ creations), and Satellite (110k+ creations).

Wet Leg

Fresh off of their two GRAMMY Awards, alt rockers Wet Leg have seen incredible success both on and off the platform since the release of their self titled debut album in April 2022 and we're delighted to see them pick up the award for British Group. The band regularly post concert snippets and behind-the-scenes content for the community, which has earned them a legion of over 556k fans who love the group's alternative sound.

Pop/R&B Act - Harry Styles

The TikTok community chose Harry Styles for Pop/R&B Award making him a four time winner on the night. Harry is beloved by users on the platform. As It Was has soundtracked a huge range of videos, from dances to dog grooming, educational videos and DIY transformations (2.6M creations).

Alternative / Rock Act - The 1975

The 1975 are all over TikTok. In between viral videos of the band touring for their new album Being Funny in a Foreign Language, Taylor Swift's surprise appearance at the band's recent gig and lead singer Matty Healy's Chicken Shop Date with Amelia Dimoldenberg, the community has also been loving the band's 2022 single, About You. Creators have embraced the song's nostalgic sentiment by sharing videos of special moments or posting their thoughts on relationships.

Best Hip-Hop / Rap / Grime Act - Aitch

Repeat hitmaker Aitch is a firm favourite within our community. Aitch shared a dance routine to to his song Baby for the TikTok community to follow, which has garnered 8.5 million views. Aitch also decided to host an exclusive LIVE and Q&A on TikTok to talk about the new track. Popular creators including Catilin & Leah, Lewis Leigh and Toby Aromolaran have all used the track in their own creations.

Best Dance Act - Becky Hill

Picking up the award for Best Dance Act was dance music powerhouse, Becky Hill. Numerous Becky Hill songs have had viral moments on the platform, mostly recently the acoustic and sped up remix of Becky Hill & Speed Radio's Remember (762k+ creations) with users lip-syncing to camera, and then illuminating the person behind them in line with the lyrics.
