#BookTok is one of our most thriving communities on TikTok. From cozy reads to romance novels, we're constantly amazed by the sheer variety of stories being shared and recommended thanks to #bookrecs and #bookrecommendations. Whether it's showcasing their favourite authors, or our own creators such @benjy_lookbook and @theroyalwardrobe becoming published authors in their own right, TikTok is the place to be to find the book that you simply don't want to put down.

But more than that, #BookTok has been a shining light for the publishing industry. It has become the place for writers and book fans to connect, with authors sharing their stories about their writing experience on #Authortok, and creators such as @bcemercer giving live readings to dedicated audiences. It's been amazing to see this community's passion have a real-world impact - with the World Economic Forum recognising how BookTok's popularity has helped push sales of print books to an all-time high.

That's why we are thrilled to be the partner for the Pageturner category at the British Book Awards this year, celebrating the bestselling books hailing from all genres and formats. All the Pageturner shortlisted books have cut through in a competitive market, delivering everything from a comforting read to pacy thrillers and a love story through the ages, with impressive sales and retail engagement.

The awards are the ultimate celebration of books: authors, illustrators, everyone behind the scenes who bring stories to life, and of course readers!

James Stafford, General manager, operations & Marketing, TikTok UK & Nordics said "We are delighted to support the British Book Awards as the Pageturner category partner. Over the past year and beyond, we have seen the TikTok community come together to discover and celebrate their unapologetic love of books; from romance and sci-fi to fantasy fiction and poetry. The Pageturner nominations are already driving conversations on TikTok, and we hope that through our #BritishBookAwards partnership even more readers will get to discover these brilliant titles."

We're so proud to see BookTok's impact on the books people are loving - with community favourites Colleen Hoover, Bolu Babalola, Adam Silvera and R.F. Kunag appearing on shortlists across the Book Awards categories. TikTok's very own Dr Julie Smith has also been nominated for her debut book Why Has Noone Told Me This Before?. We'll be crossing our fingers for all the nominees at the Awards ceremony on 15th May!
