Black History Month is in full swing and is giving us all an opportunity to reflect on the inspiration and impact Black culture continues to serve. Our community trailblazer spotlight series spotlights some of the Black creators expressing themselves and sharing unique content our community can't get enough of.

Our community trailblazers are members of the Black community that help make TikTok the vibrant and inclusive place we strive for it to be. From music to fashion, food to wellness, and so much more, these are the creators at the forefront of celebrating Black culture on TikTok.

This week, we're shining the spotlight on the amazing @ytnashaatbello.

With a penchant for the trendiest styles and products, Nash shares cosmetic reviews, seasonal outfit inspiration and GRWM videos, giving her followers creative ideas on how they can look and feel fabulous.

As a young black muslim, she's also using her platform to promote the visibility of women with similar backgrounds in the fashion, makeup and lifestyle spheres.

We caught up with Nash to discuss all things Black History Month, including being a TikTok trailblazer and the #BlackTikTok content that she can't get enough of.

Congratulations on being named as a TikTok trailblazer! What does Black History month mean to you?

Thank you, I am so honoured! Black History Month, to me, is a time to shed light on prominent Black figures and events as well as generate conversations surrounding the plight of Black people and the origins of our struggles.

What other Black creators and Black-owned businesses do you follow on TikTok?

As a beauty creator, I follow many Black creatives because it is important to support and uplift our own when we can! Some that come to mind are Dr Ewoma, Yasmin's Artistry , Sagal Jama , Daninicholls and Ameenaroshae

I am always on the look-out for Black-owned businesses to support too! Some that I follow include Yemaya London Beauty, Awralla London, The Glowcery, Jellabiya, Truskn and NISBhome - my own candle brand!

Why did you decide to start creating content on TikTok?

I have always had a passion for beauty and fashion and I knew I would eventually pursue content creation even if it's just for fun!

What is your goal on TikTok?

My goal on TikTok is to create a community where people can find inspiration and relate to things they may not hear about commonly. I create ADHD-related content from time-to-time and so many people have sought support through my videos, which makes me incredibly happy.

What is your favourite TikTok video you have made to date and why?

This is a difficult question! The one that comes to mind first is a video I made about things students should know before studying medicine. I spoke about the lack of funding in the later years and many people were shocked by this including Zahrah Khaliq, a reporter who ended up featuring me in the Daily Mirror. I'm really proud of that video as it raised a lot of awareness and increased support for the Liveable NHS Bursary campaign.

Finally, what else is on your For You feed?!

It really depends on my mood! Most days, it is beauty, fashion and lifestyle related content, which makes sense as they are my biggest interests and I make content on them too. Other days it's more random, from football to bottle-rolling videos to reddit storytimes!

Three creators I'd suggest you check out are Ameena Roshae, Melissa's Wardrobe and Dr Ewoma.
