October is #BlackHistoryMonth and as part of our #ThisisBlack campaign we are celebrating Black history, culture, content and our incredible community here on TikTok. So throughout #BlackHistoryMonth our Creator Spotlight series will be dedicated to introducing some of the many #BlackVoices making waves on TikTok right now.

Leading the charge is @tegaalexander. Tega is a dancer and all-round entertainer who serves up incredible moves, his own signature style  and relatable comedic content, earning millions of likes from his fans.

Known for his fresh moves and quick steps, we’re not sure if you’ll be able to follow his routines, but you’ll definitely have fun discovering new music, learning new choreography to impress your friends and who knows… he might even stitch your video!

Is there anything Tega can’t do? Apparently not, it seems… He dances, serves fashion week worthy looks and makes you laugh. He does all this without even breaking a sweat. With his fan base currently at 726k followers and growing daily, Tega is set for TikTok super stardom.

We sat down with Tega to understand where it all started and what inspires him on TikTok.

What do you love most about TikTok and the community?

I love that you get to know more about people from the content they create, this helps you meet new people, build relationships and form support networks. It also makes it easier to collaborate and create content together as most of the relationships built on TikTok translate to genuine friendships in the real world.

Why is TikTok right for your content?

TikTok doesn't force me to be one thing or another, it gives me the opportunity to show the duality of my character and has become the perfect outlet for a lot of crazy ideas that probably wouldn't have been so well received elsewhere.

What is your favourite recent challenge or trend on TikTok?

Love Nwantiti - It's more a trending song than a trend itself but I just love that Afrobeats is going viral on the app.

What is your goal on TikTok?

There's no particular goal, I'd like to continue to use it as an outlet for my creativity but also as a tool to make as many people smile as possible.

What else or who else is on your TikTok For You feed?!

I see a lot of Ehiz but then again who doesn't haha but generally I see a lot of dancers, a lot of football and also a lot of DJ mashups/remixes, all things I'm happy with seeing.

What is your favourite TikTok you have made to date and why?

My favourite TikTok to date is either my Michael Buble studio session or my work email threads video.

New to TikTok and can’t get enough of Tega? Getting involved couldn't be easier, simply download the app for free via the Apple App Store, Google Play or Amazon.
