Firstly, we are loving your Christmas hacks, what would you recommend we try making first?
Thank you so much. I'd definitely recommend you try making one of my DIY Christmas decorations. I love making my own Christmas decorations at home. Not only are they cost effective, they are easy to make and such a fun activity to do alone or with your loved ones.
What first inspired you to create on TikTok?
I started my TikTok journey during the middle of the pandemic. After loosing my Dad so suddenly, cleaning and home decorating really became a creative outlet for me dealing with grief. As my audience grew and I had an overwhelming amount of positive feedback. I found it cathartic to post useful home hacks and help others who were also struggling during lockdown.
Have you been surprised by the response to your content?
Absolutely, I did not think one person would watch my video let alone millions. There's been so many pinch me moments, so many highlights. I am just so grateful.
What is your goal on TikTok?
My goal is to continue creating content for as long as i can. I want to continue creating content that is accessible to all people. Irrespective of your socio-economic background, my home hacks are for everyone! I'm all about positivity and all I want to do is motivate, encourage and help others. I'm so grateful to be able to do that through my passion and creativity.
What other creators are on your For You feed?
Omg soo many, one day I'm watching home content, people like mama mila, the flipped piece, everything eryn. The next day I'm binging on my foodtokers I.e. Chanel with two L's, meals by mitch, ks nice and spice, the grub works kitchen. I also love creators such as fatsimbo, madame joyce, coco sarel, gk barry, thatswatson - they are all hilarious.
What do you love most about the TikTok community?
TikTok is the perfect space for niche content, there literally is something for everyone.
I love that people are so imperfectly perfect. There are people being raw and real, the good, the bad and everything in between. I love that i found a community and a sense of belonging with others that also look to TikTok as a form of escapism.
What is your favourite TikTok you have made to date and why?
I'd have to say my first viral Tiktok which was "cleaning my oven racks with frozen washing up liquid" it was really "THE HACK" that started it all. It was one of those post that you put out thinking no one will watch it. To then waking up to hundreds and thousands of notifications. It was international news, I was on the radio, featured on T.V. it was bizzare and I'll never ever forget that moment.
