Here's our conversation with @sassywyatt on on all things #Paralympics, accessibility, humour and their favourite creators on the platform. Don't forget to check out this very demure, very mindful crème brûlée in Paris either...

We have loved the Paralympics this year, how has it felt being in Paris?

Wow, where do I start? The Paralympics has been phenomenal - it's been a true honour to watch the paralympians play and chat to them about their hard work and dedication to their respective sports. Paris is a truly beautiful city and the people have been so kind and welcoming. Accessibility has also improved since my last visit in 2022 and I hope the universal design infrastructure continues. If you visit Paris and don't eat a cake or 10 - you are seriously missing out!

What other creators with a disability or Paralympians do you follow on TikTok?

Blind Girl Vlogs (@blindgirlvlogs), Ellie (@ellieaofficial) and Luke Poulton (@veganluke) and Lost Voice Guy (@lostvoiceguy) are a few of my favourite content creators. It's hard to pick a favourite Paralympian TikToker! Although, I loved watching Oliver Lam Watson (@oliverlamwatson) achieve his GB goal!

What do you like most about being part of the TikTok community?

Discovering incredible creators not just from the UK but around the world. I'm always drawn to those who make their content fully accessible by including captions, VoiceOver and video descriptions.

What is your goal on TikTok?

To challenge perceptions through education and humour, empowering everyone to become disability confident. Disability isn't a bad word, and being disabled isn't a prison sentence - by making the world a more accessible place, we can breakdown barriers, societal assumptions and not take life too seriously! I share the realities to show that you are never truly alone, even if you feel that way.

What is your favourite TikTok you have made to date and why?

How does a blind girl have sex? Genuinely this is a question I've been asked by random strangers many times over the years, as TikTok is such a fun platform and my husband and I have a dark sense of humour. I wanted to shine a light on both the audacity of the question but the enjoyment we get from entertaining others.

What else is on your For You feed?!

Travel, food and comedy, it's not just a theme of my For You page but a theme of my life! It gives me inspiration for future adventures but also a way to unwind and escape stressful days.

Finally, what is the one Paralympic sport you would most like to try?

I've been fortunate to try many parasports, but I think blind shooting would be good fun and something I'd love to try.
