Our 2024 Gender Pay Gap Report
At TikTok, championing diversity and inclusion is not just a commitment - it's fundamental to how we grow, innovate, and create meaningful impact. As a global platform that connects millions of people every day, we continue to cultivate a workforce that reflects the broad spectrum of experiences, cultures, and perspectives that make up the rich diversity of our global community.
Explaining Gender Pay Gap reporting
Gender pay gap reporting is one way to track the progress we are making towards greater organisational equity and covers:
- The difference in mean (the average) and median (the middle value) hourly pay between male and female employees.
- The difference in mean and median bonus pay between male and female employees.
- The proportion of men and women in a set of quartiles segmented according to hourly pay.
- The proportion of employees who received bonus payments.
Our 2024 Gender Pay Gap Report
This year’s report reflects another period of growth, with our UK employee base increasing by 12.85% since the last reporting cycle. Our workforce spans a wide range of critical business functions— which include creator management, E-Commerce, monetisation, music, privacy, product, public policy, R&D, and legal—each playing a pivotal role in driving our company’s success and innovation. As we continue to scale, we remain committed to fostering an inclusive workplace culture that reflects the wide range of diverse experiences of our employees, users, and communities.

The mean (average) hourly pay gap was 17.9% and the median hourly pay gap was 17.5%. The mean (average) bonus gap was 42.8% and the median bonus gap was 21.3%. An analysis of gender distribution across quartile pay bands indicates that men have a higher representation in the upper quartile, whereas women have a higher representation in the upper middle, lower middle, and lower quartiles.
Driving long term change
We recognise that closing the gender pay gap is an ongoing journey, and we remain dedicated to making meaningful, long-term progress. Achieving this requires continuous collaboration between leadership and cross functional internal teams. By regularly evaluating our policies, reinforcing our commitment to inclusive hiring and promotion practices, and fostering a workplace culture that prioritises inclusion, we aim to drive sustainable and lasting change.
Statutory declaration
