With #COP26 a couple of weeks away, we're excited to partner with the UK Government's #OneStepGreener campaign to be kinder to our planet and encourage people to take actions that have a positive impact on our environment.

From @bakingherman creating low waste and sustainable meals, to Glaswegian brand @rejeandenim showing us how they create zero waste denim, our community has been demonstrating how we can all live life a little greener.

One Step Greener is part of the UK Government’s campaign, Together for Our Planet, which aims to raise awareness of COP26 and climate issues ahead of the conference in Glasgow in November. Following a nationwide campaign, 20 brilliant #OneStepGreener Ambassadors were selected to become the voice of the UK public on climate change and are working closely with the government in the lead up to COP26. The remaining 6 ambassadors have now been announced, including over very own Cam Whitnall.

TikTok Creator, CBBC presenter and Wildlife & Conservation advocate Cam Whitnall will be named as one of 26 #OneStepGreener Ambassadors - extraordinary people who are going above and beyond for the climate.

Having first joined the platform back in January, Cam has already amassed over 447.5k followers on TikTok and more than 5.3 million likes. He's been wowing our community with insights into the animal kingdom, from what animals get up to after dark, to how much lions love pumpkins. But that's not all; he's also been highlighting important issues such as the fight against rhino poaching and #WorldEnvironmentDay. With his passion for conservation and the environment, we couldn't think of a better person to represent the TikTok community on a global stage as a #OneStepGreener Ambassador.

Other ambassadors joining Cam include youth environmentalist Emer Rafferty and TV presenter and Paralympic medallist Ade Adepitan. They'll be inspriting the British public to follow in their green footsteps and help make the UK a more sustainable and greener place.

Commenting on the news, Cam said: "I'm very excited to become an ambassador for the UK Governments #OneStepGreener initiative. Climate Change impacts us all, and in particular, the wildlife that I have grown up with my entire life. I can't wait to get started to raise awareness and inspire the public to take action on climate change and animal conservation."

It is no surprise that taking steps to make a positive difference to our planet, big or small, is forming an important part of the conversation on our platform.

Working in partnership with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), TikTok creators and eco-communities are coming together to encourage global communities to join in climate conversations and raise awareness on climate action.

And during COP26 itself, we'll be hosting a Global LIVE on our platform from the COP26 Green Zone on 6th November at 4pm UK BST. Check out @camwhitnall and @solanathagreenfairy to keep you posted on all the latest action from the event.

Some of our TikTok creators will also be attending the conference in Glasgow and giving you a front row seat, all from your sofa! They'll be providing behind the scenes content, which will be available to view live on the @tiktokforgood channel.

By all coming together and showcasing the big or small steps that we're taking to tackle climate change, together we can make a difference to the future of our planet.
