The impact TikTok has had on the world of fashion this year has been undeniable. From becoming the birthplace of new fashion trends like cottagecore or cowprint, to bringing back old ones like Y2KFashion or upcycling. TikTok has fast become a home for fashion creators, designers, and stylists to find their voice, collaborate, share their unique style and create the next big fashion trend.

So it was only right that we mark the impact TikTok has had on the fashion industry this year by bringing the biggest fashion event in the UK onto TikTok for our community to experience and enjoy LIVE.

We are proud to announce that we are the Principal Partner for The Fashion Awards.

The Fashion Awards is organised by the British Fashion Council (BFC) and is a fundraiser for the BFCFoundation which supports the future growth and success of the British fashion industry by focusing on Talent, Education, Grant-Giving and Business Mentoring and aims to improve equality and opportunity so that the fashion industry remains diverse and open to all, helping talented designers at all stages of their career from school level through to becoming a global fashion brand.

As a hub for diverse creativity, new fashion talent is born and radiated on TikTok, making it the new platform to spot emerging trends, fashion talent and burgeoning designers. From creators showing off their street style to vintage thrifting pioneers to budding designers, this partnership is the next stage in how TikTok is supporting the growth of new fashion talent, both on and off the platform and democratising fashion to a wider audience.

Caroline Rush, BFC Chief Executive commented: “We are thrilled to welcome TikTok as the Principal Partner of The Fashion Awards 2021. Understanding the changing nature of fashion and leading the way in technology and innovation has always been at the heart of what the British Fashion Council does. As The Fashion Awards return on November 29th, we look forward to working with TikTok on expanding the event’s global reach, opening it up to new audiences and celebrating exceptional individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to the global fashion community.”

In partnership with the BFC we will be working to evolve The Fashion Awards as a global entertainment platform, celebrating fashion's role at the intersection of culture and bringing the awards to a larger pool of fashion lovers, virtually. Here's how you can get involved...

Soak up all the fashion from the front row of The Fashion Awards LIVE on Tiktok

The Fashion Awards Red Carpet LIVE will be broadcast on the newly launched Fashion Awards TikTok account - follow @thefashionawards and #FashionAwards on TikTok for news, updates and all of the evening's major highlight moments.

Some of the biggest TikTok Creators will also be posting LIVE from the backstage - offering our TikTok community unprecedented access to the winners, presenters and fashion looks at The Fashion Awards 2021.

We're committed to using our platform to spotlight and support the next generation of fashion designers and cultivate their talent. This follows our recent partnership with British Fashion Council to support the next generation of emerging British design talent as the Principal Partner for NEWGEN. In September, The TikTok Show Space at the Old Hotel Selfridges hosted 10 NEWGEN designers as they previewed the new season's collections and gave creators and designers an opportunity to bring the creativity of London Fashion Week to our TikTok community.

Rich Waterworth General Manager, TikTok Europe, said:

"We are delighted to be the Principal Partner for The Fashion Awards 2021. This iconic event and evening of entertainment will be livestreamed on TikTok, allowing our community to experience the magic of the Red Carpet like never before; as we take a moment to celebrate the very best of British and international fashion culture. "

"This year fashion has thrived on TikTok, from our partnership with BFC NEWGEN, which saw the future of British design talent come to TikTok to share their creativity, to the emergence of unique trends and style movements ignited by our creator community. Fashion really has found a home on TikTok."
