It's official: the collaboration of the century is here.

The Princess of Pop, Britney Spears and the iconic Rocket Man himself, Elton John are releasing their new duet 'Hold Me Closer' on Friday 26th August, but it's currently previewing exclusively on TikTok.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting its release after Elton posted a teaser on his TikTok channel last week, with the video gaining over a half a million views in the first week. It features iconic images of both artists as children honing their craft, with Elton playing the piano and Britney pictured on stage.

The single is a contemporary version of Elton John’s 1971 classic, Tiny Dancer, originally released as part of his 1971 album Madman Across the Water, and later released as a single in 1972. ‘Hold Me Closer’ is Britney Spears' first new musical release since 2016.

'Hold Me Closer' joins both Elton and Britney's extensive catalogue of hits available on TikTok that span a staggering half a century of music. The TikTok community will be able to use the single in their own video creations and have already been using the preview snippet to share their excitement for the collaboration.

Earlier this week, Elton delighted unexpecting guests at a French restaurant with a live performance of the song.
