2020 has been the year of the lockdown baker. For many of us, this means burnt edges, dodgy rises and lots of mess. 🤷

Who better than TikTok baking connoisseur @jessicabakes_x to cure us of our baking woes?

Brilliant Baker Jessica has been spreading joy, laughter and immaculate icing across TikTok this year, helping us avoid soggy bottoms and split chocolate, answering our questions, serving us baking inspiration and showing us how to achieve that PERFECT cupcake. 🧁

From festive puds to christmas cupcakes, she's got us sorted for the festive season. Yum...

As we look forward to a season of indulgence, we spoke to Jessica to hear about her experiences on TikTok.

What do you love most about TikTok?

I love the 'For You page' because you see videos you would never have searched for yourself. There's so much unique content from people you may never come across in real life, so it's always interesting & entertaining.

Why is TikTok right for your content?

It's a great way to share little tips and tricks in a fun way. The shorter videos are less intimidating and easy to save as well as go back to when you want to try out a technique.

What is your ultimate goal on TikTok?

I just want to keep creating and growing. I want to continue learning how to make engaging fun videos and also push myself to be more adventurous with the cakes I make!

Who do you follow on TikTok and why? What is on your TikTok feed?

Most of the people I follow are either food or funny creators.

@kyronhamilton - his teacher impressions are spot on. My mum works in a school so I'm always sending them over to her.

@letsmunch is great! I love that his TikToks are funny as well as giving great recipe ideas.

@olsennchris I could watch these TikToks over and over, so funny.

What is your favourite TikTok you have made to date and why?

My favourite TikTok has to be my Batman cake, I never expected it to do so well and it definitely encouraged me to keep creating!

What is your favourite festive thing to bake?

I love mince pies and ever since I was little I have baked them each year with my mum and sister.
