From uplifting authoritative content on mental health and climate to creating connections between creators, brands, and non-profits, this past year we brought together our community of creators, small and medium-sized businesses, social entrepreneurs, community leaders and non-profits to amplify their positive impact. Join us as we look back at the year's most impactful initiatives that ignited meaningful change and brought together our global community this year.

Elevating trusted and impactful content

At TikTok, we're committed to nurturing a supportive community where people can share their authentic stories and access trusted information and resources. This year, we partnered with credible organizations on initiatives to develop educational content and combat misinformation.

In partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), we launched a mental health initiative to amplify authoritative content. The initiative leveraged the Fides network, a community of 800 healthcare creators, to promote TikTok's safety features, contribute to destigmatizing mental health issues and create an informed, empathetic and supportive online community.

"By working with TikTok, we are helping people access credible information and engage in scientific discourse that collectively helps shape a healthier future for all." Dr Jeremy Farrar WHO Chief Scientist

As part of our ongoing commitment to increasing climate literacy, we continued our collaboration with Verified for Climate, a joint initiative of the United Nations and Purpose. By connecting scientists and experts with TikTok creators, we developed educational content aimed to combat climate misinformation and inspire climate action. This effort has garnered an impressive 630 million impressions within the TikTok community across 2024.

Uplifting the non-profit community

We know that when the TikTok community unites, it ignites conversations that become the catalyst for meaningful change around the world. This year we focused on creating more opportunities for creators and non-profits to connect for impact. With our optimized donation feature, we've made it easier than ever for our community to raise funds for causes they care about within the platform.

This year, we launched the TikTok Change Makers program, our first-ever global social impact creator elevation program. This initiative spotlights 50 creators who bring about meaningful change in their communities through TikTok and connects them with 32 non-profits to create impact together.

We elevated the voices of the veteran community in the U.S. through the launch of our Veteran Voices initiative. We brought together the TikTok community, including veteran creators and TikTok employee volunteers, to support non-profits dedicated to serving veterans and their families, focusing on key challenges afflicting this community — mental health, affordable housing, and employment.

As disasters continued to impact communities across the globe, our company and community showed up to support those affected. From the floods in Bangladesh, Spain, and Brazil, to the hurricanes in the U.S., TikTok supported humanitarian organizations responsible for addressing the immediate needs of those most impacted. In regions at a higher risk of natural disasters, we also invested in climate resiliency initiatives to help communities to withstand and recover from extreme weather events in the future.
