We caught up with Sindi to discuss her involvement in creating the PRIDE by Creators TikTok Effect, which adds a touch of whimsy and a burst of colour to the LGBTQIA+ community's celebration on TikTok.


What inspired you to get involved in creating the PRIDE by Creators Effect on TikTok?

The effect was inspired by encouraging queer people to be themselves and not be afraid to show it. We found it would be a cute and quirky way to "represent your letter" in your LGBTQIA+ community and show which part of the queer world one belongs to as a way to "parade."


What was your creative process in developing the PRIDE by Creators Effect?

Throughout the creative process, we explored and tested various ideas. Our main objective was to create something simple and accessible that everyone could use without overthinking. We wanted the effect to be fun, inclusive, and educational, allowing users to represent their tribe and showcase the diverse flags and communities within the LGBTQIA+ space. The creative process was filled with memorable moments and a true sense of camaraderie. Being surrounded by queer individuals is always an incredible experience, as it brings together colourful personalities, kindness, and acceptance. We collaborated closely, considering and discussing each idea until we arrived at the perfect concept for the Pride Effect. Witnessing the collective effort and the passion everyone brought to the table was inspiring.


How do you hope the PRIDE by Creators Effect will impact the LGBTQIA+ community on TikTok?

The PRIDE by Creators Effect will serve as a vibrant and playful way for queer people to express their pride and identity. It not only provides a means of representation but also encourages users to learn about and celebrate the broad spectrum of sexuality within the LGBTQIA+ community. We hope it fosters a sense of belonging, empowers individuals to embrace their true selves, and sparks connections among users who share similar experiences.


What does it mean to you personally to have a dedicated effect that celebrates Pride on TikTok?

Having a dedicated effect that celebrates Pride on TikTok means a lot to me, especially as someone who represents the "B" in LGBTQIA+. Bisexual people are often overlooked or not seen as "gay" enough, and this effect shines a spotlight on our community. Through my content on TikTok, I strive to debunk stereotypes and highlight the importance of inclusivity. The PRIDE by Creators allows me to amplify these messages further and showcase the beauty and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community.
