The Lady Garden Foundation Teams Up with TikTok UK for Groundbreaking "Get a Granny To Say Fanny" Campaign!

In a bold move to shatter the taboos surrounding gynaecological health, The Lady Garden Foundation, a leading charity dedicated to fighting gynaecological cancers, today announced the launch of its groundbreaking new TikTok campaign: ‘Get a Granny To Say Fanny.’

This fun, tongue in cheek, social-first initiative marks a historic milestone as the first-ever TikTok For Good Launchpad partnership in the UK. The Lady Garden Foundation has been awarded a share of the $1M TikTok ad credits that are provided for selected social good campaigns, helping them to amplify their vital message during Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month.

To take part in the campaign, grab your phone and then grab a granny, your great-aunt, your mum, or even your neighbour, and see “how many times you can get a Granny to say Fanny for the Ladygarden Foundation”.

“Get a Granny To Say Fanny” uses TikTok to bridge the intergenerational gap, encouraging conversations that need to be had—whilst also inspiring, entertaining, and amplifying our message all across the UK. Gynaecological cancer kills millions because people aren’t willing to talk about it, or even say words like fanny. For most gynaecological cancer the risk increases significantly after age 50.

The campaign will also actively engage with TikTok creators, challenging them to participate in the ‘Get a Granny to Say Fanny’ movement. This innovative approach leverages TikTok's immense reach and influence, to foster widespread conversation and inspire a new generation to become vocal advocates for gynaecological cancer awareness, promoting early detection and symptom recognition. The partnership with one of the world’s most popular social media platforms underscores its commitment to supporting crucial public health messaging as users are encouraged to replicate the videos and post on their own channel. Much like the Icebucket Challenge for ALS, the goal is to get as many people as possible actively involved this month and beyond.

Gynaecological cancer kills millions because people aren't willing to talk about it, or even say words like fanny. This challenge helps overcome that barrier. By participating in #grannysayfanny, you're helping to start life-saving conversations and spread vital information about symptoms and early detection, so nominate a friend and get as many people involved as you can.

TikTok Creative Consultancy Lead, Sammy King, said: “TikTok for Good Launchpad is a platform to drive meaningful social impact by supporting big, bold creativity of not-for-profits. We've been on the hunt for progressive, TikTok-first thinking that pushes the limits of what creativity looks like on the platform and are delighted to support 'Get a Granny to Say Fanny'. We're incredibly proud to be able to help raise awareness of gynaecological cancers amongst our TikTok community. I'm off to give my granny a call, are you?”

Charity chair and co-founder of The Lady Garden Foundation, Jenny Halpern Prince MBE, added: “We’ve just made history, the first ever UK charity to win TikTok For Good Launchpad. That’s not just big for us, it’s big for every woman whose health has been silenced. ‘Get a Granny To Say Fanny’ was never about playing it safe — it’s a conversation starter disguised as a challenge, designed to make you laugh and think. Because gynaecological health shouldn’t be taboo in 2025. For over a decade, we’ve been breaking down the awkward, smashing the stigma, and giving women the language and the power to speak up. With TikTok behind us, we’re taking this national. Loud, proud, unapologetic. If you’ve got a fanny, or love someone who does, this one’s for you.."
