The Music Managers Forum (MMF) is delighted to announce an Associate partnership with TikTok.
This Associate Programme enables artist-focussed music services to build direct relationships with the MMF’s network of more than 850 UK-based managers, promoting in-depth training and education to open up new and innovative opportunities for the thousands of music makers and creators they represent.
Music has always been central to TikTok and it’s been amazing to see the music industry embrace the platform, bringing music to users all around the world and expanding the ways in which artists can creatively engage with fans. We’re sure you’ll have seen how more and more artists representing the broad diversity and vibrancy of the UK music scene are using the platform, including Gorillaz, Nina Nesbitt, Mabel, Robyn, Tinie, Dodie and more.
No doubt music fans among you will know all about the big artist successes on TikTok, with catchy dances and challenges quickly sending songs viral and racing up the charts. Some of our favourites include Young T & Bugsey’s #dontrushchallenge, Aitch’s#rainchallenge or Little Mix’s #BUSStayHome.
As part of the new partnership, we’ll be co-hosting an exclusive virtual training session with leading UK managers, access to best-practice resources on TikTok for members, and an in-person event in London to connect artists and managers (once lockdown measures are eased- expected to be Autumn 2020).
Here are some of our favourite videos created using songs from last week’s UK trending tracks…
But at TikTok, we don’t just care about creating the next big hit. We want to support the creative communities who are the heart and soul of the UK’s music scene and keep our TikTok communities as close to their favourite musicians as ever before.
We’ve also been supporting artists by introducing our new Donation Stickers feature. Creators can include the sticker in their videos and livestreams to raise funds for charities like @HelpMusicians. The charity delivers critical support and emergency funding to musicians negatively impacted by COVID-19.
