Today, TikTok announces the launch of a STEM feed in Singapore, giving its community a dedicated space to explore a wide range of inspiring, entertaining, and enriching videos related to science, technology, engineering, and math.

Users in Singapore will be able to click into the STEM feed to open up a world of knowledge and education, such as learning why forests are important in mitigating climate change, tips on tackling tricky mathematics questions, the differences between hurricanes, cyclones, typhoons, and more.

The STEM feed will feature over 30 STEM creators and organisations from Singapore who share enriching educational content, such as BioGirl MJ (@justkeepthinking), Coach Saiful (@coach.saiful), A*STAR (@astarsg), Mandai Wildlife Group (@mandaiwildlifereserve) and National Parks Board Singapore (@nparkssg). These creators and many others, will create a range of content that bridges the world of entertaining, engaging creativity and educational content with their unique styles. They will appear alongside more than 8,600 STEM creators from around the world, including renowned international institutions such as the American Museum of Natural History (@naturalhistorymuseum), National Geographic (@natgeo), and New Scientist Magazine (@newscientist).

"Educational content has consistently been one of the most viewed categories on TikTok, both globally and in Singapore. With the launch of our dedicated STEM feed, we aim to harness this demand and inspire a love for learning for all users," said Doreen Tan, Head of Creator Content Operations, Southeast Asia, TikTok. "TikTok is more than just entertainment; it is a platform for connection and community. Through the STEM feed, we are excited to foster dynamic spaces where users can learn, share, and grow together."

To help ensure the reliability of the high-quality STEM content being shared, TikTok has partnerships with Common Sense Networks and Poynter. After STEM videos or accounts are identified by TikTok, the organisations assess the content to ensure its appropriateness and the reliability of information presented before it is featured on the STEM feed.

Kong Man Jing, creator behind @justkeepthinking shares, "Staying true to my scientific roots, TikTok started as an experiment, but one that became a powerful tool to turn Science into Stories. As Biogirl MJ, I use it to spark curiosity, make STEM relatable, and show that Science is not just in textbooks - it is part of our everyday lives".

June Chen, Assistant Vice President, Education, Mandai Wildlife Group says, "TikTok lets us engage young audiences with creative and shareable content, making STEM-related content part of their culture. Through series like Ask Mandai Anything and Mandai Monthly, we bring complex topics such as animal behaviour and animal care to life through authentic storytelling, making conservation accessible and exciting while fostering deeper engagement and understanding."

Globally, STEM-approved videos published in the last few years have amassed almost 7.2 billion video views. Educational content with STEM-related hashtags has been watched over 110 billion times on TikTok. STEM-related content globally is also growing rapidly, growing to 35% since TikTok launched the STEM feed in several markets like the United States, Europe, and Australia.
