The #FilmTok community is one of enthusiasts; reviewers breaking down storylines; and creatives sharing filmmaking techniques - It's iconic directors sharing tips; where studios, creators and fans gather, engage and co-create to share their unique perspectives; and where global film lovers gather to share their excitement about emerging talent and the next global phenomenon.
In fact, new research has shown that 47% of users say that they have discovered a new movie coming to theatres on TikTok.(1) After discovering a new movie on the platform, TikTok users are inspired to take action, including 36% purchasing a ticket(2) - which is easier than ever thanks to built-in product features like TikTok Spotlight. During TIFF's Industry Conference, we'll be offering a panel to dive deep on harnessing the power of fandom, why collaborating with TikTok creators is a strategic decision and how TikTok Spotlight makes it easy for studios to maximize fan conversation for new releases and library catalogues alike.
