TikTok has officially launched ‘Mind Your Business’ - a new LIVE vodcast hosted by Australian business powerhouse and Founder of Boost Juice Bars, Janine Allis. 'Mind Your Business' is dedicated to showcasing the incredible small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) who are leveraging TikTok to share their passions and expertise, build community connections, and address important issues.
Recorded LIVE from TikTok's creator studio in Sydney, Janine is joined for each episode by an influential TikTok creator and business owner, who is using the platform to share their entrepreneurial success and grow their business. 'Mind Your Business' not only highlights their success stories, but also provides practical tips and tricks to help Australians turn their business aspirations into a reality.
The vodcast marks yet another stride in TikTok's unwavering commitment to supporting SMBs, with more than 350,000 Australian businesses now leveraging the platform to forge connections and expand their audiences. TikTok has the unrivalled ability to enable business growth, and one viral video can translate to real-life sales, a new customer-base, and even the potential to reach a global audience.
The first ‘Mind Your Business’ episode saw Janine interview Brittney Saunders, Founder and CEO of inclusive fashion brand FAYT The Label, with an entertaining discussion that covered topics including the beginnings of both FAYT The Label and Boost Juice Bars, and the importance of authenticity - particularly when using TikTok. The pair also discussed their top tips for starting a business: begin by identifying and solving a problem, define your target customers and product, create a clear plan, commit both mentally and financially, and ensure effective promotion for visibility and persistence.
In the second episode, Vincent Lim of @dimsimlim joined Janine to discuss his journey from local restaurant owner to internationally successful creator, including his new crepe truck venture Kurepu Crepes. From whether it's easier to start a business today, with tools like TikTok, vs 20 years ago, and what it was like to challenge Gordon Ramsay to a TikTok cook-off (with over 120 million views to boot!), Vincent and Janine dispensed advice for both existing SMBs looking to make their mark on TikTok and aspiring business owners.
Episode three is set to air in mid-November, featuring Joel Twyman, Co-Founder of The Marshmallow Co (@themarshmallowco). With an impressive following of over 1 million followers, The Marshmallow Co. has not only captivated a massive audience but has transcended borders by delivering their Australian-made giant marshmallows to customers worldwide, including those in the UK, US, and beyond.
Janine Allis, Founder of Boost Juice Bars and host of TikTok's ‘Mind Your Business’, said: "The hardest thing for a business is knowing how to reach their customers. There are countless small business owners in Australia who have found TikTok to be the holy grail for tapping into a new audience. On 'Mind Your Business', we talk to some of the incredible creators who are using TikTok as a tool to build a successful business."
Vincent Lim, Restaurant Owner and Content Creator, said: "I'm excited to be a part of the TikTok 'Mind Your Business' vodcast to share my story of how I utilised TikTok to market my businesses. I couldn't be more proud to give back some knowledge about business in general and the TikTok platform to the audience who have supported me since my very first video."
Brett Armstrong, General Manager, Global Business Solutions TikTok AUNZ, said: “We're committed to celebrating the Australian businesses who are finding success on TikTok by embracing authenticity. We love hearing first-hand how one viral video has the power to reach new audiences and unlock real-world business opportunities. Both the creators and the formidable Janine Allis bring a wealth of expertise to the table, offering invaluable insights into the world of entrepreneurship, whether in the digital realm of TikTok or in real life. I'm looking forward to tuning into more episodes!".
