What are some content creation tips you would offer to other creators?
Your niche must be linked to your passion; it should be something you love and don't mind discussing or being asked about.
The reason for this is twofold:
- For your tribe to find you, once you have defined your content pillars, it's easy for anyone who visits your page to understand what they can expect from you and determine if it's what they want more of.
- Your passion for the chosen topic will drive you to create content and strive for improvement, even when waiting for the desired views or engagement. Your niche can encompass more than one topic.
What is your favourite TikTok you have made to date, and why?
I love inspiring my audience. It's truly gratifying when members of my community share that they turn to my page as an inspiration hub for their outfits on various occasions, and as a result, I create content that addresses these fashion dilemmas.
What inspires your unique sense of style, and how do you incorporate it into your TikTok content?
My style is an expression of my personality; I'm one who dresses according to how I feel. While I consider function, it informs the content I create. I provide context for where I'm going and why I choose to style an outfit in a particular way. Sometimes, form triumphs over function because I prioritise feeling fabulous, and that's how I look ☺.
What advice would you offer aspiring fashion creators just starting on TikTok?
Embrace the cringe—whether you feel awkward creating content in public or cringe from not getting views. Embrace it and keep going. Many people stop creating content in the early stages because it feels cringe. You must persist until it comes naturally to you and you aren't bothered.
Refrain from breaking the bank by buying new items; look at what you have and see how to restyle what's in your closet. People relate more to everyday styling than special occasion outfits. Moreover, we are moving towards a more sustainable way of approaching fashion, which means using our creativity to reuse our clothes and wear them repeatedly.
How has being a part of TikTok’s community helped you grow and evolve as a fashion creator, and what unique opportunity has it brought to your journey in fashion?
TikTok has provided me with a wide reach and a wonderful community. When I open the app, I get excited about connecting with like-minded people who share my passion for fashion. It's incredible to see the genuine connections and love for style that we share.
Now, I have this unique opportunity to attend Paris Fashion Week, which is an absolute dream come true for me. I can hardly believe that my journey from creating content on TikTok has led me to this incredible moment. It's a testament to the power of sharing your passion and creativity with the world.
Looking back, I'm so grateful I dared to start sharing my content on the platform. It's not just about fashion; it's about building a supportive and inspiring community that encourages me to keep pushing boundaries and pursuing my dreams. I can't wait to see where this exciting journey takes me next!
