Safer Internet Day, on Tuesday, 6 February 2024, is an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users, especially young people.

This year, TikTok is again supporting Safer Internet Day in Ireland by partnering with Webwise to support their "Tech in our World” campaign, encouraging people to learn and share tips and techniques to promote a positive impact on our time online.

As part of this campaign, TikTok is working with some of Ireland's leading creators, including John Sharpson, Mirenda Rosenberg and Daniel Devlin who have shared content in English and as Gaelige about empowering young people to enjoy their online time and be protected.

At TikTok, every day is Safer Internet Day and we continually strive to foster kindness and maintain a safe and inclusive space for our community to create and discover, without fear of being shamed, bullied or harassed.

  • This Safer Internet Day, as well as working with Webwise , TikTok is working with UNESCO and partner organisations around the world to make it easier for people to access the safety tools and features available on TikTok.
  • With an in-app content hub launching across Europe, people will be prompted to be kind and positive towards others, assess what they see online, and manage their digital well-being.
  • Safety is a priority for TikTok all year round and we're investing more than $2 billion (1.8+ Euro) in 2024 alone to continue our work to keep TikTok safe for our community.
