TikTok Launches Dedicated Irish History Hub
TikTok is bringing Irish history to life with the official launch of the #IrishHistory Hub. This hub is a dedicated home on TikTok which accommodates the increasing demand to learn more about the stories, people, places, and legends that have shaped Ireland throughout history.
Every month, 2.2 million people across Ireland turn to TikTok for entertainment but for discovery and learning. As global interest in Irish culture continues to grow, TikTok's Irish History Hub aims to make Ireland's rich heritage even more accessible and discoverable.
The #IrishHistory Hub builds on the already thriving community through the #IrishHistory hashtag which alone has sparked more than 21k+ posts. The initiative also connects Irish history with the global #HistoryTok movement, where more than 500k + videos from creators worldwide are reimagining how we connect with the past.
Local historians, educators, and everyday storytellers have found their voice on TikTok, collectively generating a vast digital archive of Ireland's past. Through their content, creators that include @janecasey.ie, @weirdireland, @davyholden, @IrishStoneLifting and @theirishgem are preserving forgotten folklore and showcasing hidden gems across the country. Their bite-sized, locally rooted storytelling invites users to explore Ireland's heritage in fresh and engaging ways, appealing to both dedicated history buffs and casual scrollers alike.
“We’re witnessing a new way of engaging with history,” said Rebecca O’Keeffe, Content Operations Lead at TikTok Ireland. "What makes this initiative special isn't just the breath of historical content, but the passionate community of creators who bring their personal perspectives and local knowledge to each video. They're not simply documenting history—they're starting conversations about Irish identity that bridge generations and borders in ways we never anticipated when we first saw #IrishHistory gaining momentum."
To explore the Hub and discover these creators, simply head to TikTok and search #IrishHistory.
