On TikTok, we have seen a whole new generation of creative talent flourish, from emerging filmmakers and comedians to musicians and small businesses. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to turn their creative passion into a career, which is why we are proud collaborate with the BBC on the BBC Creator Lab programme.

The BBC’s brand-new talent initiative, BBC Creator Lab, has seen more than 90 TikTok creators from across the UK take part in two-day, in-person development programmes - in Glasgow, Salford, London, Cardiff and Belfast - to highlight and nurture the careers of young digital creative talent.

The BBC Creator Lab workshops brought together TikTok creators with some of the biggest names in social, digital and broadcast media, from Director-General of the BBC Tim Davie and TikTok internal experts, to social and TV stars Munya Chawawa and Zara McDermott.

At the events, the creators were given pitching masterclasses and media training, before being given the opportunity to meet and pitch to commissioners and producers from some of the BBC's biggest shows, from the Eurovision Song Contest to Planet Earth and Saturday Kitchen.

The creators also received expert sessions from the team at TikTok, who provided bespoke feedback and in-depth insight on how to best utilise the platform. The creators then worked closely with BBC producers, according to specific briefs across sport and football, UK nature, cooking, family and entertainment.

Many of this year's cohort have already been successfully commissioned to work with the BBC and TikTok on upcoming opportunities.
