Power to the people🎙

We are delighted to announce the return of the TikTok powered public vote for the four genre categories at The BRIT Awards 2023 with Mastercard.

Nominations will be going live during Bring on the BRITs with Mastercard - the exclusive live stream hosted by Vick Hope, who will be joined by radio broadcaster and alt music champion Jack Saunders. The Radio 1 DJ will be opening the genre voting across the four categories: Alternative/Rock Act, Dance Act, Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act and Pop/R&B Act.

Fans in the UK, across the EU, South America and Canada have the chance to vote to determine the winners of four awards. First introduced last year, they were designed to spotlight the incredible British talent creating music within these genres and, with millions of votes cast, were won by Dua Lipa (Pop/R&B), Sam Fender (Alternative/Rock), Becky Hill (Dance) and Dave (Hip Hop/Grime/Rap).

Tom Daley, Yung Filly, Lioness Gill Scott and Gogglebox's Joe and George Baggs have been entrusted with revealing this year's nominations across their social channels and they were all given locked BRITs boxes to keep safe before revealing their categories on today's live stream.

A dedicated TikTok voting hub will launch at midday 19th January and close at midday GMT on 2nd February. The TikTok community will be able to cast up to ten votes per category. We're so pleased that such an important decision is again being placed in the hands of the TikTok community.

Fans on TikTok will get the opportunity to interact with nominees ahead of the ceremony by following the official BRITs TikTok account (@BRITs) and using the hashtag #BRITs which has generated over 445 million views since launching last year.

The BRIT Awards 2023 will take place on Saturday 11th February at The O2 in London and will be hosted by Mo Gilligan. Be sure to tune in - you don't want to miss this!
