Ready, Steady, Vote 🎙


We are delighted to announce that the public vote for The BRIT Awards with Mastercard this year will officially be powered by TikTok. From today, fans across the world will be given the chance to vote for their favourite music artists through our app, in a first for both TikTok in the UK and the BRIT Awards.

The public vote will determine the winners of four new awards for the 2022 ceremony: Alternative/Rock Act, Dance Act, Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act and Pop/R&B Act. The categories have been introduced to spotlight the incredible British talent creating music within these genres.

The vote will launch in a dedicated TikTok voting hub at 12pm today and close at 6pm GMT on Thursday 3rd February. The TikTok community will be able to cast up to ten votes per category, per day, with vote limits resetting at midnight GMT every night for the duration of the two-week voting window. Voting will also be supported by Bauer Radio who will be running on-air promotions across Absolute Radio, KISS, KISS Fresh, and Hits Radio.

Fans on TikTok will get the opportunity to interact with nominees ahead of the ceremony by following the official BRITs TikTok account (@BRITs) and using the hashtag #BRITsTok, which launched on TikTok’s Discover page last month and has close to 100 million views already. We've seen lots of great fan and artist content from BRITs nominees too, including Nathan Evans, Raye, Wolf Alice, Griff, Holly Humberstone, A1xJ1, Joy Crookes and Joel Corry.

Nominations for this year’s BRIT Awards were unveiled on 18th December, with the above names joined by artists including Adele, Sam Fender, Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Central Cee, and Little Mix. Many of the nominees love using TikTok to share new music and engage with fans, so it's fantastic that such an important decision gets placed in the hands of our community.

The BRIT Awards 2022 will take place on Tuesday 8th February at The O2 in London. It will be hosted by Mo Gilligan, with Clara Amfo and Maya Jama set to present The BRIT Awards Red Carpet broadcast on ITV2. Be sure to tune in - you don't want to miss this!
