Can you share any personal experiences or stories that have shaped your understanding of South African history and culture?
First of all, I got a good understanding of South African history and heritage through my school education. We all know the country has a lot of cultures and I was lucky enough to grow up with friends who share a lot of these different cultures.
What message do you hope to convey to your community on Youth Day?
Celebrate the day and don’t forget the young people who fought for your independence.
In your opinion, what is the biggest issue South Africa’s youth face today?
I think unemployment is one of the greatest issues facing the youth of today.
How do you see TikTok as a platform for promoting South African culture and heritage?
TikTok is the perfect platform for the promotion of South African culture and heritage, especially through its rich music and dancing traditions.
What favourite South African traditions or customs would you like to see preserved for future generations?
I wouldn’t want the music and dance culture to change as I think our vibe as South Africans is unmatched.
What advice would you give to other young South Africans who aspire to be content creators or influencers?
Be authentic, consistent and humble.
Finally, what do you hope to achieve through your work as a TikTok creator, and how do you see yourself contributing to the future of South Africa's creative industry?
I always hope to put smiles on people’s faces and to be an inspiration to others. In terms of contributing to the creative industry, I hope to grow alongside it as it grows, because I know we all still have a lot to show the world.
