TikTok & Showmax Unite To Celebrate The Art Of Laughter With #NaijaComedyFestival. In keeping with our goal of finding innovative ways to bring top-tier entertainment and creativity to our community, TikTok is delighted to announce a partnership with African streaming service, Showmax, for the #NaijaComedyFestival hashtag challenge. Through this partnership, we hope to further highlight its efforts to encourage authentic creative expression that changes the way people engage with entertainment. While putting a spotlight on comedy by providing the tools for discovering, being discovered, creating and sharing.

Kicking off on the 10th of October on TikTok, the #NaijaComedyFestival hashtag challenge has been created to give creators in comedy an opportunity to build a community with fellow funny creators. Local comedians will have until the 1st December to share their hilarious comedic content using #NaijaComedyFestival to enter to stand a chance to be announced as part of the Top 15. TikTok users will have the opportunity to vote for the best 5 creators from the Top 15 in-app finalists in-app. The Top 5 finalists will be given the opportunity to participate in a one-day mentorship event with TikTok funny man, Mr. Macaroni. Furthermore, the final group of creators will also be asked to create a comedy video that will be featured on www.showmax.com.
