What began as a fun hobby for Ntokozo, has now turned into an exciting adventure, captivating 483.8K followers with creativity and connection!
What inspired you to start creating content, and how has your journey evolved over time?
I started creating TikTok videos in 2022, just for fun. At first, it was about expressing my humor and maybe making a few people laugh. But as I continued, I discovered that I genuinely enjoyed the whole process—creativity, connecting with viewers, and seeing people enjoy my content. What started as a hobby became a passion. I’ve stuck to my humor niche throughout, and the journey has been incredibly rewarding. Looking back, I can see how much I’ve grown, not just in followers, but in skills and confidence. I’m excited to see where it takes me next.
Can you share a memorable moment or message from your audience that has impacted you personally?
A moment that stands out was when I received a message from a fan who told me my videos had become a bright spot in their day during a tough time in their life. They said my content consistently made them laugh and helped them forget their troubles, even if just for a few minutes. It gave me a new perspective on what I was doing and made me realize that making people laugh can truly make a difference, even in small ways.
How do you balance authenticity and creativity in your content, especially when addressing sensitive topics within the LGBTQ+ community?
As a member of the community, I feel responsible for representing us accurately while also keeping things light and entertaining. I use my dating experiences or conversations with friends as inspiration for relatable skits that other queer women can identify with. I discuss challenges with a humorous twist, finding a balance where the content is funny enough to engage people but still real enough to make them feel seen.
What role do you believe TikTok plays in promoting LGBTQ+ visibility and representation?
TikTok has become a powerful platform for LGBTQ+ visibility. The ability for content to go viral quickly means authentic stories can reach millions. TikTok brings people together, fosters understanding, and helps build a community. While there are still challenges to navigate, it has created opportunities for LGBTQ+ voices to be heard.
Are there any specific challenges you've faced as a content creator in the LGBTQ+ space, and how have you navigated them?
Occasionally, I face negative comments, but most of my audience is supportive. I focus on positive interactions rather than dwelling on negative ones. Humor helps me stay light-hearted, and by remaining authentic while keeping things fun, I can manage any negativity that comes my way.
What advice would you give to other LGBTQ+ creators who want to use their platform to make a positive impact?
Be true to yourself, but don’t feel pressured to make your identity the center of all your content. Create what genuinely interests you—authenticity will shine through naturally. Remember that negative comments are only a small fraction of your audience, so focus on your positive impact and supportive community. Most importantly, set boundaries for how much of your personal life you want to share. There’s no right or wrong way to be a creator—what matters is your comfort with the content you produce.
