More than 2.4 million people across Ireland come to TikTok every month. Ireland remains a key part of our global operations and continues to play a strategic role in our work across Europe. Our teams here include Trust & Safety, European privacy, security, and advertising support for small and medium-sized businesses. At TikTok, we aim to reflect the diversity of our platform in our workplace by fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for all employees.
One way we measure our progress is through gender pay gap reporting. Under the Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021, all organisations in Ireland with 50 or more employees are now required to publish their gender pay gap data. This year’s analysis includes thousands of employees working* across crucial areas of our business, and calculates:
- The difference in mean (average) and median (middle value) hourly pay between male and female employees
- The difference in mean and median bonus pay between male and female employees
- The proportion of men and women in a set of quartiles segmented according to pay
- The proportion of men and women who received bonus payments and benefits in kind
The hourly pay gap has changed marginally compared to last year, however overall levels remain relatively low. The bonus gap is larger than the hourly pay gap. 96.3% of women and 95% of men received performance-related bonuses, maintaining a high level of participation across both groups.
A Balanced Workforce Distribution
Gender representation remains broadly balanced across most quartiles.
Priorities for the Future
Championing diversity and inclusion remains central to our values at TikTok. Building on our ongoing initiatives, we will continue our work to ensure our workforce reflects the diverse communities we serve.
