Kyla's ‘Do You Mind’ is TikTok's UK Song of the Summer 2026 as UK garage takes over the summer

UK garage, Oasis and football fever define TikTok’s UK Songs of the Summer

Katy Perry's ‘The One That Got Away’ named TikTok's Global Song of the Summer 2026

UK garage is back, Oasis are everywhere again, and football has helped shape the soundtrack to the summer on TikTok.

Today, TikTok reveals its UK Songs of the Summer 2026, with Kyla (@kylarofficial) and DJ Paleface's (@djpaleface) ‘Do You Mind’ taking the number one spot after becoming one of the defining sounds of a UK garage resurgence.

The 2008 track has found a huge new audience this year, generating more than 543 million video views from 644,000 creations in the UK over the summer and making a return to the Official Singles Chart as part of its 2026 revival.

It leads a UK Top 10 that jumps between generations, with sounds synonymous with the 90s and 00s sitting alongside some of the biggest new British tracks of 2026.

UK garage is back

UK garage leads the charge. Alongside ‘Do You Mind’, Silva Bumpa's (@silvabumpa) ‘On 2nite’ takes third place following its rise to #14 on the Official Singles Chart, while Prospa (@prospa) and Cloonee's (@clooneeuk) ‘Free Your Mind’ also makes the Top 10 after reaching #6.

And it goes beyond individual tracks. In the UK, the number of TikTok posts using #UKGarage increased 42% between February and July 2026 while #HouseMusic increased 53% over the same period.

Kyla said: “‘Do You Mind’ has been the gift that keeps on giving, so seeing a whole new generation connect with it has been incredible. UK garage / funky house has always had this amazing energy and community around it, and TikTok has opened that up to people who might be hearing the sound for the first time. Seeing people put their own spin on the track, and then watching it come back into the charts nearly two decades later, has been a really special full-circle moment.”

Oasis, football and the sound of a British summer

If the dancefloor provided one soundtrack to summer 2026, football provided another.

Oasis' (@oasis) ‘Wonderwall’ is TikTok's second biggest UK Song of the Summer after becoming the unofficial soundtrack to England's World Cup. Mass singalongs in the stands turned the Oasis classic into one of the tournament's defining moments, driving a 6,800% surge in searches for the song on TikTok since the start of the World Cup. The track generated 336,000 creations and surged back up the Official Singles Chart, reaching #2 during its 2026 resurgence.

But the Oasis revival goes beyond one song. ‘Champagne Supernova’ also makes the UK Top 10, as a new wave of fan content, football videos and cultural nostalgia brought the band's catalogue into the feeds of another generation.

The result is a Top 10 that could only really belong to summer 2026: UK garage alongside Oasis, new British dance records alongside catalogue classics, and some of the year's biggest chart hits sitting alongside songs released decades ago.

There are plenty of other stories in the Top 10. Sam Fender (@samfender) and Olivia Dean’s (@oliviadeano_)‘Rein Me In’ made UK chart history this summer, breaking a 73-year record to become the longest-running UK Number 1 single of all time. Chris Rainbow’s ‘Be Like a Woman’ has found a new audience decades after its release, earning the late Scottish artist his first posthumous Billboard chart placement. Bonnie Tyler’s (@bonnietylerofficial) ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ also makes the list, following the Welsh singer’s death earlier this summer. Aitch (@aitch12) makes the Top 10 with ‘RMB (Ring My Bell)’, his 20th UK Top 40 hit, while Dave (@santandave) and Tems’ (@temsbaby)‘Raindance’ spent two weeks at Number 1 and became Dave’s biggest US hit to date as the longest-charting song by a UK rapper on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Katy Perry's ‘The One That Got Away’ is TikTok's Global Song of the Summer

Globally, Katy Perry's (@katyperry)‘The One That Got Away’ has been crowned TikTok's Global Song of the Summer 2026, 15 years after it was first released as a single from her Teenage Dream album.

The track has been used to soundtrack more than 15 million TikTok videos, introducing it to a new generation and helping propel it back into charts around the world. From covers and edits to personal ‘one that got away’ stories, the TikTok community has transformed the 2011 hit into one of 2026's biggest catalogue revivals.

Katy Perry said: “It's surreal to see The One That Got Away having this moment, all these years later. The thing about music is that you never really know where a song is going to end up, or when someone is going to find it. From seeing it being chosen in the “choose your own adventure” section of my Lifetimes Tour concert film to seeing people discover it on TikTok and make it part of their own stories has been really special to watch. It’s nice to revisit an amazing chapter while watching another unfold.”

Tracy Gardner, Global Head of Music Business Development at TikTok, said:

“Every summer, TikTok becomes the soundtrack to millions of moments of joy around the world. Our Songs of the Summer for 2026 celebrate more than just the biggest tracks - they reflect the creativity of the global community that transforms songs into cultural moments. This year's list showcases the incredible diversity of music on TikTok, from emerging artists finding their first global audience to iconic catalogue tracks being rediscovered by a new generation, alongside the fandoms, creators and trends that continue to shape music culture on and off the platform. It's inspiring to see artists from every genre and every corner of the world finding new fans through the creativity of our community.”

TikTok's Summer Honours 2026

Every summer, TikTok is the home of viral trends, cultural conversations and fan connections that shape music around the world. Today TikTok would like to celebrate the tracks, artists and trends that have been all over our feed during Summer 2026, with the TikTok Summer Honours.

🌸 Outstanding Contribution to the Summer: Zara Larsson

TikTok would like to recognise Zara Larsson, the Grammy-nominated artist who gave us all a never-ending Midnight Sun this summer, and who truly embodies the spirit of Pop Girl Summer. Giving us infectious pop anthems and viral choreography, as well as viral make up trends, fan edits and behind the scenes looks at a superstar in the making, Zara Larsson and her remix album, 'Midnight Sun: Girls Trip', is the living embodiment of summer vibes, soundtracking all of our summers on TikTok, and sending Zara Larsson's career into the stratosphere.

😂 Misheard Track of the Summer: 'Du Bist Gut Genug'

Every summer needs that one viral sound of the season. Something so catchy you can't help but start singing it yourself, even if you don't know the words. This year's crown goes to 'Du Bist Gut Genug' ('You are good enough') by KITSCHKRIEG feat. Blumengarten and Shirin David, the viral track better known by many on TikTok as "Doobie Scoot Canoe". The TikTok global community has had a whole lot of fun with the German lyrics, inspiring thousands of hilarious videos, memes, and creator interpretations (including by BTS' Jungkook, Steve Lacy and Lizzo) that has become one of the season's most joyful shared jokes. And, with two new versions now released featuring Skepta and Omah Lay, that joke will run and run..

KITSCHKRIEG said: "Beyond the virality, what really mattered to us was proving you can do it on your own terms. We were always told black and white doesn't work, 16:9 doesn't work - "Gut Genug" proved otherwise. Do your own thing, and if it's good, it connects — and people will carry it all around the world on TikTok."

💚 Boyband of the Summer: CORTIS

Celebrating the artists who helped drive K-pop discovery and community on TikTok this summer. Everyone was hitting their iconic choreo including KATSEYE, LE SSERAFIM, and BTS' J-Hope.
