- A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) to equip sellers, rights holders, and representatives with strategies for protecting their brands on the TikTok Shop platform.
- The launch of the #TikTokShopSmart campaign, empowering Filipino shoppers with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed purchases by offering tips on identifying trusted sellers, comparing products, and checking reviews, ensuring users enjoy a smooth, reliable experience during high-traffic shopping events.
- Remained compliant with local laws and regulations: All sellers on the platform go through a rigorous onboarding process, with business documents, tax documents, articles, and certificates screened and verified before they are able to sell on the platform. For both local and cross-border products regulated by the Department of Trade and Industry's Bureau of Product Standards (DTI-BPS), a Philippine Standards (PS) License and Import Commodity Clearance or ICC are required.
- Rolled out seller education initiatives, such as new articles and webinars on TikTok Shop Academy, as well as content on the @sellwithtiktokshop_ph TikTok account to keep our sellers up to date on our policies.
These steps reaffirms TikTok Shop's dedication to shaping a safe and secure shopping ecosystem for its global community and local markets like the Philippines. As the platform continues to grow, TikTok Shop remains committed to fostering trust, ensuring brand protection, and safeguarding user experiences.
As TikTok Shop heads into 2025, the focus on safety, transparency, and intellectual property protection will continue to guide its approach, ensuring that the platform remains a trusted space for both sellers and buyers.
