TikTok Shop continues to uphold trust and safety standards across its growing global platform, enabling users to shop in a secure environment. As part of our commitment to user safety:

  • We maintain a range of policies, in line with Philippine laws and regulations, that apply to buyers, sellers, and creators, as well as their products.
    • All sellers on the platform go through a rigorous onboarding process, with business documents, tax documents, articles, and certificates screened and verified before they are able to sell on the platform.
    • TikTok Shop also requires sellers to submit supporting documents, including the Philippine Standards (PS)/Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) Number, to verify that products are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • We continue to support sellers in staying informed on our policies and relevant local laws and regulations.
    • In line with the implementation of the Philippine Internet Transactions Act (ITA), we conducted webinars and released articles and guides on the TikTok Shop Academy and published content on the @sellwithtiktokshop_ph TikTok account to guide sellers on the provisions and requirements under the ITA and best practices for remaining compliant.
    • We continue to keep our sellers up-to-date on our policies through announcements on our TikTok Shop Seller Community.

  • We have taken a localized approach to safety, including:
    • Signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) to equip sellers, rights holders, and representatives with strategies for protecting their brands on the TikTok Shop platform. We continue to work with the IPOPHL in conducting IP Bootcamps and making IP rights education accessible to businesses and consumers through their #NoToFakes campaign, work with the International Trademark Association (INTA), and other brand protection initiatives.
