Jess Glynne’s Hold My Hand is the Global & US Song of the Summer on TikTok

Summer 2025 has once again witnessed global music culture being made by the TikTok community, who have soundtracked their summer TikToks with countless infectious tracks, shared amazing viral moments, and discovered a host of both new and catalog artists for the first time.

However, one track has absolutely dominated Summer 2025 on TikTok.

TikTok's Global Song of the Summer

Today TikTok can confirm that the undisputed Global #1 Song of the Summer 2025 - as well as the #1 Song of the Summer in the US - is Hold My Hand by Jess Glynne.

Hold My Hand is the infectious 2015 dance track which has also become known as the 'Jet2holidays song', thanks to the trend that has taken over TikTok - and the world - this summer.

Hold My Hand has now been used over 9 million times to soundtrack hilarious videos of travel fails, holiday mishaps, animal encounters, proposal interruptions, and much more, with the likes of Jeff Goldblum and Mariah Carey even getting involved with the fun. Videos featuring Hold My Hand have now been viewed over 80 billion times on TikTok.

Jess Glynne said: "I'm honestly buzzing that Hold My Hand has been named TikTok's Song of the Summer! This track is so close to my heart, and seeing it take on a whole new life with you all on TikTok has been surreal. Music has always been about connection for me, and knowing this song has soundtracked so many happy moments around the world… that's the most special feeling ever. It's the song that keeps on giving!"

This year, TikTok will be shining a light on the songwriters behind some of the summer's biggest hits, including Jin Jin, the co-writer of Hold My Hand. Jin Jin is a highly acclaimed, award-winning British songwriter with a global influence on the music industry, who - alongside her prolific writing partnership with Jess Glynne - has worked with artists such as Raye, David Guetta, Burna Boy, Becky G, JLO, Maluma, and Wizkid, creating multi-platinum hits across various genres.

Jin Jin said: "I'm absolutely thrilled that Hold My Hand is the number 1 song of the summer on TikTok. It’s amazing to see the song take on a life of its own and it being known by millions all over the world. #SongwritersDream 🥰"

TikTok's Global Top 10 Songs of the Summer 2025 list reflects the community's diverse taste in songs across genres, eras and artists - both established and new.

The TikTok community's love of older tracks this year saw Black Eyed Peas’ energetic 2010 banger Rock That Body land at #2 in the global Songs of the Summer list, thanks to dance moves by creators, fellow musicians, and a few pets.

Our #3 most popular global hit goes to Fantomel and Kate Linn. Their entrancing song Dame Un Grrr powered some of the biggest makeup and outfit transitions of the season and encouraged many to try out a new, more animalistic look.

And, more than six decades after its original release, Pretty Little Baby by the late Connie Francis was another huge hit, landing at #5 on the global list after the TikTok community embraced it as the perfect soundtrack for wholesome pet and family videos. At its peak, the song averaged 600,000+ daily creations on TikTok.

This summer also saw the TikTok community fall in love with some brand new tracks. One of the biggest TikTok trends of the summer belongs to PinkPantheress. Her track Illegal fueled the global 'Is this illegal?' handshake trend that has turned the For You page into a celebration of friendship, with over 3.7 million creations on TikTok, and earned PinkPantheress her second chart placement on the Billboard Hot 100.

TikTok's US Top Ten Songs of the Summer

In the US, Jess Glynne's Hold My Hand may have dominated our For You Feeds, but the TikTok community also discovered, created with, and fell in love with more amazing tracks - new and old - this summer.

Jeezy and Akon’s collaboration on Soul Survivor landed them at #2 on the US list and #4 on the global list. Bolstered by the “Holy Airball” trend, creators used the anthemic song to flex their unique sidequests, special skills, and one-of-a-kind pets.

Radiohead's 1997 track Let Down - at #4 on the US list - became a global hit this summer after finding a new audience on TikTok, with the community using it to soundtrack videos and photo mode posts about relationships and personal challenges, propelling it back into the charts.

PLUTO and YKNIECE’s insane energy on WHIM WHAMIEE had the whole room on their feet this summer, with crowds reciting the lyrics bar for bar and dancers bringing their A-game in the studio. The song’s popularity brought them to #5 on the US list, inspiring some of today’s biggest hitmakers, including Lizzo who jumped on the beat with her YITTY ON YO TITTYS (FREESTYLE) and Sexyy Red who dropped her own verse on the official remix.

TikTok is obsessed with KESHA's 2010 hit Your Love Is My Drug, earning it the #9 spot on the US list and #10 on the global list. Creators lip synched to both the iconic lyrics of bridge and the mesmerizing background vocals. Everyone jumped on this trend from father/daughter duos, to your favorite weatherman, and even Love Island contestants. KESHA herself even jumped on the trend with her mom who cowrote the song with her.
