At TikTok, we know that great content starts with great creators. They drive discovery, spark engagement, and are the heartbeat of the communities they build. We also know that when creators feel protected and safe, they can share their stories freely, push creative boundaries and connect meaningfully with their audiences.

As part of that commitment to creators, we're announcing new features that help protect TikTok creators and empower them with tools to succeed so they can continue making content people love. These updates include:

  • Creator Care Mode, which helps creators better filter out offensive and unwanted comments.
  • A new mute feature for TikTok LIVE, that helps creators on LIVE to bulk mute words, phrases and emojis.
  • Content Check Lite, which allows creators to pre-check whether their content is likely to be ineligible for the For You feed before they post it.
  • Creator Inbox, a new professional inbox experience designed to help creators manage their messages more efficiently.
  • Creator Chat Room, which allows creators to connect and interact directly with eligible followers on TikTok.

Empowering our community with additional controls

Today we're announcing Creator Care Mode, a one-click switch that makes managing comments easier and more efficient for creators. When activated, Creator Care Mode filters all comments identified as offensive, inappropriate, or profane as well as comments from users that have previously been reported, deleted, or disliked. This feature is tailored to the unique experience of a creator. AI learns based on a creator’s own report and delete behavior—so if a creator repeatedly deletes or reports comments, then those kinds of comments are less likely to appear in their comment section.

We're also announcing a new comment tool for TikTok LIVE. If the host or one of their moderators enters a keyword, phrase or emoji into the tool, those comments will not appear in the chat, and commenters who previously posted the phrase or who post the phrase in future will be muted for the creator's chosen duration. The feature is available to all creators globally today, and will proactively surface to creators who mute or block repeated comments during a LIVE.

New features to help creators follow our Community Guidelines

TikTok maintains robust policies to keep everyone safe as they create, discover, and connect on our platform. To help creators understand and follow our rules, we offer resources, like our Creator Academy, and are testing new features as part of our Content Check program.

The first feature is Content Check Lite, which is rolling out through TikTok Studio on the web to start. This feature allows creators to check whether their content may be eligible for recommendation in the For You feed and make any necessary changes before they upload it. When we rolled out a similar video pre-check for TikTok Shop sellers, we saw a 27% reduction in low-quality uploads as a result, because creators were able to adjust their content to follow our rules thanks to the tool.

We're also in the early stages of testing a broader Content Check with a small pilot group of creators. This feature will allow creators to check their content against all our Community Guidelines before it goes live on platform, and receive feedback on what they might need to change to make sure the content abides by our rules.

With both features, creators will be able to adjust their content before posting to help ensure it follows our rules, enabling them to safely reach their audiences on TikTok. We'll continue to work with creators as these features develop and look forward to their feedback. Our goal is to continue to educate our community and support them in understanding and staying within the rules that we've set.

Equipping Creators with new tools to succeed

Making our creators feel safe on TikTok is the baseline — the next step is to give them the tools they need to flourish. We want to enable creators to focus on what they do best, which is creating amazing content. That's why we're rolling out two new features that help creators better manage their experience and interact with their community on TikTok.

Creators who actively engage with large audiences often receive a high volume of messages. To help with organization, we're introducing the Creator Inbox, a new professional inbox experience designed to help creators manage their messages more efficiently and streamline their communication. Creator Inbox includes new features for managing engagement, like intuitive tabs including Unread and Starred folders to help creators mark messages based on their significance. Creators can set up custom responses to address commonly asked questions they receive from followers and can create quick replies for sharing these responses with one tap.

We're also announcing a new way for creators to engage their communities on TikTok. We're currently in the process of rolling out Creator Chat Room, which brings together eligible creators and their followers who share common interests, helping foster deeper community bonds directly on TikTok. Creator Chat Room serves as a dedicated space for creators and their most engaged followers. Creators can connect and interact with followers, whether it's hosting chats to share exclusive updates, asking fans for their input on new content ideas, or promoting events and launches in real time.

To start, creators need at least 10,000 followers and either a Subscription or a LIVE Fan Club to start a Creator Chat Room. Each chat is capped at 300 people, and creators can create up to 20 chats. To help ensure chats stay safe and positive, creators can appoint up to five moderators to help them manage the chat. In addition, Creator Chat Rooms have all the same safety protections as our Group Chat feature, including the ability for group moderators to block and ban users, and for users to report content or accounts. Creator Chat Rooms are only available to creators aged 18 and over, and all the content has to abide by our Community Guidelines.

We remain deeply committed to building products and features that help our community grow and succeed, and are excited for the benefits that this suite of products will bring to our creators.
