TikTok’s popular #1MAuditionTikTok is now live on the platform calling all users to share creative videos on popular themes such as Food, Comedy and Education

TikTok, the world's leading short form video platform today announced the seventh edition of its popular in-app campaign, #1MAuditionTikTok. Starting December 9, until December 22, the campaign invites users to participate and showcase their creative streak across three key categories including Food, Comedy and Education. After an overwhelming response in the previous regional edition, this time around as well, the campaign is regionalised focusing on Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages. The most creative videos stand a chance to win exciting prizes everyday.

Known for its diverse content including videos on sports, DIY, dance, #1MillionAudition, has become one of the most loved and well-received campaigns on TikTok since its launch in 2017. To date, the hashtag has garnered close to 86 billion views. The #1MillionAudition, is a chance for millions of users across India to create and share videos based on the themes of the audition to showcase their creativity for a chance to win cash rewards on a daily basis and a bumper cash prize at the end of the campaign.

Earlier this year, the sixth #1MillionAudition, brought the country together with vines as a theme across multiple Indian languages and saw entries double to 1.2 million from previous editions with over two billion views. This year’s edition introduces two new categories - Food and Education, along with the previously popular category Comedy. 

The #1MillionAudition has changed the lives of many Indians. 85-year-old, Mary Joseph Mampilly, one of the winners from the sixth #1MillionAudition, won the hearts of many. The campaign kick started her acting career, with roles in two highly anticipated Malayali movies of which one featured popular Malayali actor, Jayaram! 

Expressing their excitement on the latest edition, previous participants of the #1MillionAudition, Anuraj Rajan and Preena Anuraj said, “We look forward to participating at each #1MillionAudition. It is a friendly competition that encourages creativity amongst the entire TikTok community. There is so much talent on the platform, this challenge helps us to be more creative and create better content on the platform.”

Another popular creator Funbucketbhargav, a previous #1MillionAudition winner, said, “The #1MillionAudition has helped me expand the genre of content I publish. I might have begun my TikTok journey only with lipsync videos, however, through this challenge, I tried Vines as a genre and the appreciation I received helped me build my fan base to more than 5.5 million on TikTok. Popular comedy creator, Subu, said, “#1MAudition is Back! This challenge has taken me on a life-changing journey as it helped in sharing my talent with the world. I was encouraged by my friends and family to participate in the contest and share creative content on comedy. The exciting journey has helped me garner the love of our 1 million fans.” 

Talking about the love and the excitement about the challenge, popular creator, Shyam Senduran, said, “In the beginning, I was exploring TikTok just for entertainment and found that with #1MillionAudition, people were sharing their talent across themes. I participated in the contest and posted a few comedy videos with VFX and got recognition from the global community and even won prizes.”

Popular creator Aashika Gowda from Bangalore, said, “I used to follow top creators such as Awez Darbar and Nagma, and learned about the #1MAudition from them. I was curious about the challenge and tapped onto the hashtag. Initially, I was hesitant, but after winning the 1M Audition, I got the confidence to shoot videos in any category and have seen positive response for my videos across Karnataka.”
