With 5000+ entries from 1700 participants, #BeADigitalStar contest clocked over 50 million views on TikTok within 10 days

Kerala, 16th December 2019: TikTok, world’s leading short-video creation platform announced Ardhra Sajan, a popular beatboxing creator as the winner of #BeADigitalStar contest and awarded her the title ‘Miss Kerala TikTok Star’ at the grand finale of Miss Kerala 2019. The award was presented to her by renowned Malayalam actor Vineeth Kumar. She was unanimously declared the winner by TikTok and Miss Kerala basis her unique talent and response to videos on the platform.

In the honour of completing 20 years, Miss Kerala partnered with TikTok to launch its first-ever digital contest #BeADigitalStar. Live on the platform for 11 days starting November 28th till December 08th, the contest cloaked over 50 million views and received more than 5000 entries from 1700 of participants, who showcased their talent and skills to the world, in the form of creative videos on TikTok. Participants from across the state took part in the contest with great enthusiasm, as they shared their minute-long creative videos around categories such as beauty, fashion, travel, food, music, dance, art and craft. The most trending content categories amongst the participants were Art and Craft followed by Food, Music and Life Tips.

Speaking about her victory, Ardhra Sajan, said, “Music has been an integral part of my life since childhood and thanks to TikTok, I am now able to showcase my beatboxing skills to a large audience at once, that too in the most creative and accessible way.  I am overwhelmed to have won the ‘Miss Kerala TikTok Star’ title as I’ve not only gained popularity with this but have received infinite love and appreciation from my followers on TikTok, which truly makes me feel like a star.
