We have submitted our response to the Government of India and are working with them to provide clarifications to allay the concerns they have.
Throughout the duration of our operations, we have demonstrated unequivocal commitment to complying with the local laws, including data privacy and security requirements. We have not shared any information of our users in India with any foreign governments, nor have we used such data in any manner that would compromise the integrity of India. Further, even if we are requested to in the future, we would not do so.
As stated in our latest Transparency Report released earlier this July, we take pride in being extremely proactive in responding to government content escalation, by virtue of content moderation decisions taken locally by our Grievance Officer and legal teams.
We remain committed to our creator community in India, that entertains millions of TikTok users worldwide with their talent, enabling cross-cultural exchanges and truly global engagements. In doing so, our creators continue to inspire us by demonstrating daily, the power of creative expression in propelling positive social and economic change.
Artists, storytellers, educators and performers from across the country have found not only recognition but also new avenues to livelihood improvement through our platform in India. It is humbling to see how TikTok enabled them to share joy, build awareness around social issues, and access a plethora of perspectives from across the world. To this effect, we feel even more inspired and will continue to cooperate with the Government of India with the hope of making the TikTok platform available to our users in the future. Thank you for your continued belief and trust in us.
We would like to reiterate that our employees are at the heart of our business and we place utmost importance on their personal and professional well-being. Together with our employees, we remain committed to entertain millions of users in India and globally.
