Year-end report looks back at this year's popular trends, creators and moments in Ireland that sparked joy and real-world impact

DUBLIN, IRELAND - 6 December, 2022: In 2022, we lived, we laughed, we learned on TikTok. Our Irish and global community entertained and inspired each other, elevating and celebrating self-expression by discovering, creating and sharing content that captured our collective imagination.

In celebration of 2022, today we're unveiling our Year on TikTok 2022, the annual year-end report that celebrates our Irish community along with the trends, creators and moments that made 2022 a year that's truly #ForYou in Ireland and the rest of the world.

This year, TikTok is where we experienced the joy of learning a few new tips to make our lives easier, cooking our way through culinary adventures, turning the pages of our favorite books, singing along to songs stuck in our heads, and so much more. This year, our fyfaves in Ireland include a video from chef, @DonalSkehan who shares his slow cooker meatball stew, along with the NGO, @SealRescueIreland who introduces us to Baji the seal.

Through our Only on TikTok category - the trends you would only find on TikTok - Irish FarmTok videos drove tens of millions of views in the past year as farming content reached phenomenal popularity both in Ireland and around the world. Meanwhile, a Newtownards department store became globally famous when their @wardensofnewtownards account went viral after being spotted by @holymorridge.

Our Year on TikTok list also continues to spotlight the diverse community of creators in Ireland who have been inspiring us, making us laugh and teaching us new skills every day. Our Breakthrough Stars list in 2022 features @KateGrantModel, a model with Downs Syndrome, @pintofplane, a woodworker craftsman from Innishannon and @itz_jacob_33 who has documented his transition journey on TikTok
