Promoting a safe and positive app experience is TikTok’s top priority and we offer both in-app tools and educational content to provide users with all the information needed to have the best possible experience whilst enjoying their time within the TikTok community.

As we continue to nurture our growing diverse global community, we will carry on launching new tools and initiatives to support the creation of a positive and safe app environment, where users can express themselves and have fun.

We’re excited to share with you two new features, Screen Time Management and Restricted Mode which we hope you’ll find useful in customising your TikTok experience.

Both features can be found in the Privacy and Settings, under the section Digital Wellbeing.

TikTok New Digital Wellbeing Features

TikTok offers more options for Screen Time Management

Your wellbeing is very important to us and we want you to enjoy your time on TikTok. We have now launched a new way to give TikTok users and parents more options to select from in terms of the time spent on the app.

Initially, TikTok gave users the opportunity to limit screen time to two hours per day. Now users and parents can select new time limits of 40, 60, 90 or 120 minutes and decide how much time they want to spend on the app per day.

This feature is password protected, valid for 30 days. If users reach their screen time limit they will need to enter a password to continue to use TikTok.

Screen Management Time is a useful tool to let users decide how much time they want to spend on TikTok.

Upgraded Restricted Mode feature

Additionally, TikTok is upgrading its Restricted Viewing Mode feature, once enabled, this is an optional account setting that will limit the appearance of content that may not be appropriate for all audiences. The feature is activated via password, which will be valid for 30 days. This tool, powered by AI, lets users take control of the content they watch.
