Last week, British Columbia faced an extreme weather emergency with severe storms resulting in flooding, landslides, mudslides, and power outages across the South Coastal and Interior regions of the province. Over 17,000 people have been forced out of their homes, entire towns emptied, farms flooded, and supply chains delivering essential goods including food, medicine, and fuel have been cut off.
We know that when there's an emergency, Canadians show up for each other.
To support those most impacted by the devastating floods in British Columbia, we are calling on our community to donate to the Canadian Red Cross, and TikTok Canada will match all donations made through this page up to a total of $50,000.
About the Canadian Red Cross
The Canadian Red Cross is working to get help to people in and around affected areas as quickly as possible, and provide humanitarian assistance for new needs as they arise. Money raised will enable the Red Cross to carry out relief, recovery, resiliency and risk reduction activities in and beyond the region at the individual and community levels.
