Introducing the DStv Content Creator Awards - a platform where we get to shine a light on the incredible people, brands and agencies who produce and share all the thumb-stopping, double-tapping, stitch-worthy, meme-making, share-crazy, keeps-us-coming-back-for-more content from across South Africa.

We are excited to announce our partnership with DStv and One-eyed Jack for the inaugural Awards. With these awards and our partners, we aim to give creators in South Africa the recognition they deserve by highlighting their immense creativity while letting them hear the applause of their adoring masses, and bestowing upon them a (not-too-heavy-but-still-significant) specially designed trophy.

Over the years, we have seen that the content we consume – and the way it’s created – has changed drastically, and it’s only getting more exceptional, professional and far-reaching. For many people, including local TikTok creators, this exceptional creativity has become a career and legitimate source of income. However, until today, there is nothing out there that celebrates the extraordinary content and the people who create it.

"As a platform that continuously looks to inspire authentic creativity and amazing content, this for us forms part of the many ways in which we recognise and celebrate our local talent. Our community can look forward to fun hashtag challenges and informative creator workshop Live streams." said Saul Moross.

There is no denying that these brand-new awards are the real deal – and we’re calling on content creators, influencers, agencies and brands to enter their best work to stand the chance to win.

So who can enter?

These highly-regarded accolades are exclusively awarded to creators of exemplary content. This can be a professional content creator, or just a regular person 18 years and older who has created something so great that it’s gone viral.

For the launch year, the awards are open to South Africans who live in South Africa for most of the year, with plans to expand into Africa soon.
