Search powers discovery on TikTok, helping people explore, learn, and dive into topics they're curious about - from recipes and how-tos to DIYs and more from all across TikTok.
To support creators as they look to connect with audiences through Search, we're excited to introduce Creator Search Insights: a new tool, available in select regions including South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria, that gives creators insight into topics people are searching for on TikTok.
With these insights, creators can source inspiration for their content, tailor their creative strategies to meet audience interests, and create content that people want to see more of. Our hope is that Creator Search Insights empowers creators to make content that's relevant to searchers and positioned to perform well on TikTok.
How it Works
Creators can start tapping into these insights by typing "Creator Search Insights" in the search bar (creators will soon be able to find it directly from Creator Tools, in Settings).
Creator Search Insights will surface topics that are searched for often. Topics can be sorted by category (like tourism, sports, and science) or For You (topics related to the type of content you create). Creators can also filter for content gap topics. These topics are searched for often, but aren't featured in a large number of videos on TikTok.
Creators can remove and report search topics by long-pressing the topic they want removed.
Connect Search with Creator Rewards Program
Search value will also factor into the Creator Rewards Program (CRP), which means creating content related to in-demand search topics will increase creators' content's search value.
Creators can see which topics are most popular based on a popularity score or the Recommended Topic label next to the search term. These topics have a high potential for engagement and creators can reference these labels as they shape their content strategies and chart their creative direction.
What's next for Creator Search Insights
We're excited to bring these insights to our creator community, and we'll continue improving Creator Search Insights as we listen to feedback and build tools that help creators better optimize their content for Search.
